Kamps is continually searching for new ways of reducing the CO2 emissions caused by its own business operations and projects. Climate preservation is of great importance to us and our clients. To fulfil these ambitions we also use the CO2 Performance Ladder. Kamps strives for the use of clean and efficient machines and equipment to reduce the consumption of fossil fuels, replacing the fleet of machinery contributes to this goal. Furthermore, employees are made aware that working efficiently helps to achieve the formulated goals. In addition, all vehicles are equipped with a system that records the fuel consumption. This data provides us insight to-, and helps us improve the drivers behaviour with regards to the fuel consumption.
Insight is provided to all energy flows within the company, and documented in the CO2 Performance Ladder. For the greater part, the emissions are caused by the electricity consumption of dust collectors, compressors, heaters, dryers and other electrical equipment. Initially, the measures are focused on the equipment with the highest energy consumption, because this will result in the biggest reduction. Important trends in energy consumption and CO2 emissions will be communicated internally as well as externally.
To exchange knowledge, we will join the initiative of the Koninklijke Metaalunie (Royal Metal Union), called the “MVO Monitor”. This initiative is based on the exchanging of experience and information about relevant subjects concerning CO2 reduction.
By investing in knowledge, automatization, material and personnel, we expect to expand our position over the coming years, and keep operating as a robust, dependable partner to our clients.
